The Interlude

Day off

Every once and while we get some time off, or atleast an evening to relax and unwind. Naturally a bunch of us met at the hotel some of the guys were staying at for an improvised game of flip-cup and then beer pong. The evening was a lot of fun to unwind and give ourselves the mental break needed between trips.

Somewhere near the end of the evening we were discussing the upcoming trip to Wapta, and the fact that a few of us were about to take a cab back to the hostel to sleep. Generously the floor and a blanket was offered by one of the hotel dwellers and the discussion went something like this….

Colin: “Do you want to crash on the floor tonight?”
Me: “Tomorrow were going to be sleeping on the ground, no were sleeping on ice, no were sleeping on a f*cking glacier, 3000m above f*cking sea level for six f*cking nights in a sh*tty little tent…..I’m sleeping in a damn bed tonight! I think I’ll wait for the cab but thanks though!”
Colin: “Yeah…. sh*t your right.”

Maybe a funnier if you were there for that moment, but brings up an interesting thought about what we are willing to do in order to explore, to push ourselves to do better, go further and really live.

What we are willing to do in order to explore, to push ourselves to do better, go further and really live.
