So with the Northern Hike failing early in stages, I feel slightly defeated and deflated. But I have decided to make the most of the time I have bought myself for the summer. I may not be able to hike the entire length of the Canadian Rockies. At least not this year. So I have decided I will Hike the Great Divide Trail Solo, which will be half of the time out there. And I will fill the other half of the time with new, exciting adventures. I am not stopping now.

That all being said, I have a group of friends getting ready to head to the Athabasca river near Whitecourt to canoe the Athabasca river for a few days to Fort Assinaboine. Conveniently this takes place over Canada day so I suppose if I join them I don’t have to spend Canada day alone!
